Both her parents were in prison. She was bullied for being bi-racial. Alexis could have given up. But with help from the Club and caring grandparents, Alexis overcame a very difficult childhood and soared. A Club member since the age of six, Alexis said about the Club, “It is MY place here I can be myself, and the staff accept me for who I am.” Alexis graduated from Fulton High School early. She’s now attending Carson-Newman. And she was named the Club’s 2012 Youth of the Year. “Those who are afraid to walk will never be able to fly,” Alexis says. Thanks to her character, Alexis has the opportunity to reach very high indeed.

We welcome volunteers in our Clubs. Our members appreciate the opportunity to interact with caring adults who help them with homework, read to them, or play.
Opportunities include volunteering for shifts during the Great Tennessee Valley Rubber Duck Race or the Boys & Girls Clubs Book Sale, serving on planning committees for events, or coordinating Angel Tree purchases and gift sorting.
If you are interested in a hand-on group activity like painting, landscaping, cleaning, etc., we can coordinate work days at our Clubs.
Please download and print a Volunteer Application Form.
A background check is required of all volunteers who work directly with our children.
Completed applications can be emailed to:
